ORIGINS

Software built for how construction actually works.

We're a small development company building custom tools for contractors and builders. You'll have something working in weeks, not quarters.

What we build

Tools for the work that still lives in a spreadsheet.

Every construction business runs on a few processes nobody sold them software for. We build the tool that fits the way you already work.

Custom project tools

The process that works on paper and falls apart in Excel — turned into something your team will actually use.

  • Drawing & document registers
  • Subcontracts and scopes
  • Tendering and buyout
  • Change and cost tracking

Less paperwork

Documents arrive by email and leave by hand. We automate the reading, sorting and checking so nobody re-keys a ticket at 6pm.

  • Inbox and email automation
  • Delivery tickets
  • Daily reports
  • Quantity reconciliation

Replacing what's broken

The spreadsheet everyone depends on and nobody trusts. The half-finished tool the last developer left behind.

  • Legacy system replacement
  • Spreadsheet migration
  • Connecting your systems
  • Ongoing support
Our platform

BuildOrigins

In pilot

Our own platform for contractors — the contract, the work bought against it, and the site paperwork that ties back to both, in one place.

Contracts & specifications

Everything you're obligated to build, organized and tracked instead of buried in a PDF.

Scopes & subcontracts

Who is doing what, what's been missed, and where the gaps between trades are.

Tendering & buyout

From invitation to award without three versions of the same spreadsheet.

Site documents

Tickets and reports read, filed and checked against what you bought.

BuildOrigins is in pilot now. We have room for a small number of early accounts — get in touch if you'd like one.

How we work

Working software in weeks, not a roadmap in quarters.

Being small is the point. No long discovery phase, and nobody between the conversation and the work.

01

We learn your process

A few days with the people doing the work — not a requirements workshop.

02

Something working in 2–4 weeks

A real tool, loaded with your projects, in your hands. You judge it by using it.

03

You steer it

Every couple of weeks there's something new. What we build next is what you say matters next.

04

We keep it running

Or we hand it over to your team. Your call, and it's on the table from day one.

Small on purpose

You're not a line item on someone else's roadmap.

We're not trying to be an enterprise software company. The value of a small shop is that your project is the work.

The big platform
  • Licences for features your team will never open
  • Six months before anyone logs in
  • A consultant who has never run a project
  • Your request joins a roadmap you don't control
  • Support is a ticket queue
Origins
  • One tool that does your job, and nothing you didn't ask for
  • Something working in front of your team in weeks
  • People who have done the job themselves
  • Your priorities are the roadmap
  • Support is the person who built it
Who we are

Two partners. One runs construction, one builds software.

We started Origins after years of watching good projects run on spreadsheets held together by one person's memory.

One of us has spent a career in construction — contracts, procurement, coordination, closeout. The other builds software. That's the whole company, and it's who you'll be working with.

We've done the job the software is for. That's why it fits.

Tell us what's broken.

Send us the process costing your team hours every week. We'll tell you straight away whether it's worth building.
